Back in July, when LG unveiled the Optimus Net P690, it said that the new Android smartphone would have a dual SIM version for select markets. Well, this version has been now officially announced as the LG P698.

The P698 is known as the LG Optimus Link Dual Sim in Russia, and as the LG Optimus Net Dual in Brazil.

Apart from the fact that it supports two SIM cards (and the search key has been changed with a switch SIM key), the P698 is similar to the P690, featuring Android 2.3 Gignerbread, a 3.2 inch HVGA display, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.2MP camera with VGA video recording, 512MB of RAM, and an 800MHz processor. The handset only has 150MB of internal memory, but it comes with a 2GB memory card in the box.

In Russia, the LG Optimus P698 will cost 8,990 rubles (about €216 or $290). Its price shouldn't be too different in other markets.
